Yes oui Cannes!!

Dear friends,
I'm very excited to be able to share some news with you today.

As many of you know, this past year has been a tremendous creative challenge. Please let me explain. I joined a group of photographers, The 365ers; A photo a day for a year. (Thank you Jason Forest)I believe today is day 303. Anyway, it is one of the most exciting projects I have been involved with to date.

I decided to enter one of my photos into an international competition, The Sony World Photography Awards. Much to my pleasant surprise, out of over 25,000 entries, my submission made the shortlist and I am now standing in the top 10 in my category. As you can imagine, I am extremely happy and incredibly flattered to be included in that talent pool.

As a finalist, my work will be showcased at the World Photography Awards in Cannes, France this April. Should I win first place, my expenses will be covered. As a finalist, I am still invited and encouraged to attend.

I am reaching out to my family, friends, and the art community for help to realize this tremendous opportunity. I know these are hard economic times for everyone, myself included. I am humbly asking everyone I know to help make this dream a reality. I know I have a wonderful group of friends and family that have supported me and continue to support me- this realization brings me much gratitude everyday.

So I ask, if you could please find it in your heart to donate even a small amount, it would certainly add up & I would be forever grateful.

Thank you sssoooooo much for your support!

I have posted links to the festival, the contest, & my jury selected photo.

  1. Hi Karas! Congratulations! This is such a huge accomplishment! I am going to donate a small amount. I haven't really been selling a lot of aprons lately, but I am so proud of you. You work very hard on your photography, and have really gotten to be an amazing artist.
    I love you!
p.s. If you get a ton of donations, can I come too?
